Wings Like a Dove: My Heart for the Nations

Prompt: “What countries do you want to visit?” Psalms 2: 8

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. And if dreams had wings, a young girl from West Africa would soar over oceans, mountains, and borders just to find where her heart longed to be.

As a child, I often imagined traveling far beyond the shores of my homeland. I sang the old lines with hope, “I wish I had a wing like a dove, I would fly over the mountains, over the seashores where my love is waiting for me.” Back then, it was just a wish—a whisper that fluttered beneath the weight of life’s limitations. But time and grace taught me that some wishes aren’t meant to stay dreams. They’re meant to become callings.

By God’s mercy, I found wings—not just of travel, but of purpose. I didn’t just land in America; I flew in the Spirit. I came as a beggar made rich, not by coin, but by calling. I rode not horses of royalty, but horses of responsibility: to speak, to serve, to sow.

And now the question comes again: Where do you want to go? What countries call to you?

My answer is simple: I want to travel the world—wherever Jesus is waiting to be known. I want to go where the gospel has been heard but not understood, where hearts are still aching to grasp the love that sets captives free. I want to meet those whose eyes are heavy with religion but empty of revelation. I want to find my “loves”—not in romance, but in redemption.

I want to visit Kenya, to sit with young girls and tell them their voices are prophetic. I want to stand in South Korea, where revival once surged like fire, and ask, “Are your lamps still burning?” I want to walk through Brazil, not for the beauty of beaches, but for the beauty of broken worshipers who are waiting to be seen. And yes, I dream of Jerusalem—not just as a sacred site, but as a shadow of my ultimate citizenship.

This isn’t wanderlust—it’s witness. This isn’t tourism—it’s testimony.

So I don’t just dream anymore. I plan, I pray, I prepare. Because I believe that the same God who gave me wings like a dove will also give me the nations for my inheritance. And to each place I go—whether by foot, film, or faith—I’ll carry one message: Jesus still saves, still speaks, and still sends.

Gratefulness: Most of the time, we fail to apprehend that our lives are full of breakthroughs and achievements. Just because we did not set goals, make plans for our growth and development, does not mean those are not purposes. God purposes things, and as we grow heedless, quietly, He brings all to fulfilment. I never planned most of the successes I celebrated. God put all in His plans for me. I receive them gratefully. I give thanks to God. Yes, when I said I grew wings, I did not mean I became stubborn; rather, I travelled by air. The airplane became my dove with wings that transported me. I believe you understand me. I know that you have experienced this in your way. Let’s be grateful, always, for the little things we have achieved. If you still breathe air, thank God and show your gratefulness.
